What makes sports so great…

Shohei Ohtani is on the mound Tuesday night in downtown Phoenix vs the Diamondbacks. The hometown nine is just one game for the final wild card spot in the National League. It seems as improbable a scenario as any if you go back to the end of July when the trade deadline hit. ..

Phoenix Mercury in a WNBA semi-final…

Ricky Pearsall had eight catches for 117 yards in the 49ers ‘ last-second win over the Cardinals. When Pearsall was at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe, not many thought he’d turn into an every-down NFL receiver…

Nothing like being opposite Dallas and Chicago on a football Sunday. I flip on the end of the Rams/Eagles game and am told America’s Game of the Week is coming up between the Bears and Cowboys, without even a mention of 49ers vs Cardinals. Yep, been going on for years…

Suns open training camp this week. I can save you the time of what will transpire at Media Day. We will hear terms like, “we have work to do”, “we like being slept on”, “It’s us against all of you to prove you wrong”, etc, etc, etc, etc…Get back to me in late March and let’s see how it all looks. It’s good to know the product is free to watch on TV…

Sneaky good high school football game this Thursday, Valley Christian vs Ben Franklin. Both schools are undefeated, and the rivalry is intense. CW7 Fiesta Bowl Showdown game at 6:30 pm Thursday. Former Chandler High School head coach Rick Garretson will make his broadcast debut…

How many Thanksgiving Dinners are going to be spoiled by political disagreement at the table?…
