Getting ten wins shouldn’t be that hard for the Super Cardinals.
I suppose when an Arizona State football game kicks off at 10 pm on the East Coast on ESPN+, the engineer in Bristol, Connecticut, can go home. I mean, it’s past their bedtime, right? The damage done to Arizona State by not having a clean broadcast can’t be measured. How many potential recruits and parents missed an opportunity to learn more about a school that they may be considering? NFL types may have wanted to check out the QB and WR combination. If anyone excuses this as nothing more than the guy pulling the plug on the lights in the movie “Airplane”
I’d say, “not so fast”. This is the same network that can’t get through a calendar year without an Arizona State Wildcats or Arizona Sun Devils logo or reference. “Oh, sorry” doesn’t cut it. They don’t care. Cut a deal with groups who give a damn, not ones who take the check and go about their day without a care if there’s a problem after their bedtime…
My experience at the Arizona State home opener was different than usual. I was invited by Sports Agent/ Hall of Fame Sun Devil Golf coach Steve Loy to take in the game from his suite. Steve represents Jon Rahm, Phil Mickelson, and many, many others in the sports and entertainment industry.
Ride share to the game at 4:30 pm
6:20 pm Up to the suite. The elevator to the suite was out, so I had about a fifteen-minute wait in the main concourse.

Ride share home by 11 pm.
The SEC has done an excellent job of marketing itself as the place where football is king. We have pointed out through the years that the narrative of the SEC being that much better than other conferences isn’t really the case. Texas and Alabama losing wasn’t as big a deal to me as how they lost. Sure, give Ohio State and Florida State credit, but Arch Manning and the Crimson Tide hype needed a big bucket of cold water in the face to wake up.
Whoever is advising Arch Manning to do commercials that appear in games he’s playing shouldn’t be advising. It’s one thing to have NIL in college; it’s another to brand yourself before you’ve arrived at the NFL. No reason for the kid qb to provide more fodder if he doesn’t play well…
Got my hands on an advance copy of Mitch Albom’s latest novel, “Twice”. So good…
